This year, we are carrying out research into absenteeism in the workplace how this effects productivity, efficiency and morale and what can be done to ensure good management practices are in place, managers are well-trained and staff motivated. Sickness absence costs the UK £12 Billion a year, with 150,000 workers having taken at least a month off sick because of sickness related illnesses. Businesses are losing 8.4 working days for every member of staff per year, this research is being collated to gain some information on the impact of sickness absence to businesses in Kent.
