Care Sector Loans

Interest-Free Loans for Learning

The Care Sector Loan Scheme was launched in December 2006 to enable those working in the care sector to increase their skills level and so progress their careers. The Scheme operates by providing adults with interest free loans for training leading to recognised qualifications. By improving their qualification, individuals can increase their earnings, so enabling them to repay the cost of the training. Income from loan repayments is then recycled to provide new loans for new applicants.

The project is operated by the Individual Learning Company, working in co-operation with Kent Top Temps. Kent County Council is providing financial support for the project.
